Jaipur:Mla’s wants removal of Sachin Pilot
Jaipur: As the power tussle between Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and his deputy Sachin Pilot continues, the second Congress Legislature Party meeting was held on Tuesday. Despite Congress’ top leadership, including Rahul Gandhi and his sister Priyanka Vadra reportedly urging Pilot ‘not to go against the chief minister’, the rebel leader chose to skip the CLP meet for the second consecutive day.
However 104 MLAs present at the ongoing Congress Legislative Party (CLP) meeting at Fairmont Hotel in Jaipur have unanimously demanded that Sachin Pilot should be removed from the party, says sources. The meeting is being held at the hotel where the party MLAs are currently lodged.
Notably, the CLP had met on Monday at Gehlot’s residence in the state capital where a resolution was adopted urging “strong disciplinary action” against any party member who tries to weaken the government. However, the resolution didn’t name Pilot, who along with 19 other Congress MLAs are said to have skipped the CLP meet.
Pilot openly revolted against Gehlot after the special operations group (SOG) of Rajasthan Police, probing the alleged case of bribing of MLAs to topple the Congress government in the state, sent a notice to him for appearing before it. Pilot’s supporters sare of the view that the notice is to humiliate their leader.
