Budaun: Truck hit bike, woman died


Budaun: A speeding truck hit a motorcycle from behind, in Myaun area of Budaun district resulting in the immediate death of a woman riding the bike. The accident caused a traffic jam. Police initiated an investigation and sent the body for a postmortem before handing it over to the family.

Madanpal, a resident of Pindra, Gadhiya Shahpur village in the Hazratpur police station area, was traveling to Jamalpur on Tuesday afternoon to buy medicine along with his younger brother’s wife, Shilpi, and Reena, wife of Bablesh. Near Dugri village on the Myaun-Hazratpur road, a speeding truck hit their motorcycle from behind. Shilpi (35), wife of Dhaneshwar, died on the spot. Madanpal and Reena were thrown off the bike onto the road but escaped unharmed.

The accident led to a traffic jam on the road. Following information from passersby, Hazratpur police arrived at the scene, cleared the jam, and sent the body for a postmortem. The deceased woman is survived by three daughters and one son.
