Saina Nehwal climbs on BJP’s rath

New Delhi: Shutler Saina Nehwal joined the BJP today. The acquisition comes as a major boost to the saffron party owing to her huge fan following, which comes just ahead of the assembly polls in Delhi. Along with Saina, her sister Chandranshu also joined the party.

“The way Prime Minister works day and night, I like it very much. I like doing something for the country & BJP is a party that is doing good work for the country, I am happy to have joined the party,” she said.

The 29-year-old Haryana-born badminton player is one of the most successful Indian athletes who has bagged both Olympic and Commonwealth Games medals. She has been honoured with the country’s top sporting awards like the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna and Arjuna Award.
