Wuhan tells locals to stay indoors after fresh scare
Beijing: Days after Wuhan announced that it successfully curbed Covid-19 outbreak, the Chinese authorities has asked its residents to stay at home amid fears of a rebound.The authorities of the capital of Hubei province in China, on Friday, asked its residents to stay indoors as asymptomatic cases increased recently, as per state-run Xinhua news agency. The epicentre of Covid-19 outbreak was under a 9-week lockdown until recently after thousands got infected in the epidemic.
Wuhan authorities, in a notice, asked the residential communities in the city to continue to monitor the movements of dwellers and ensure their temperatures are checked frequently and they wear masks, reported Xinhua.
The notice also warns the residents not to let their guards down with an increased influx of outsiders in the city after the blockade was lifted. Outbound travel restricts are expected to be lifted on April 8.
There are 1,075 asymptomatic cases of the disease on the Chinese mainland. No cases of local transmissions have been reported from Hubei province and its capital Wuhan where 51 asymptomatic patients have been found.
